What we collect, why, who processes it, and your rights under the DPDP Act.
Version 3Effective 26 August 2026
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and what you can make us do about it. It is written to meet the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP).
1Who we are
YOJNA COGNITIVE TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED (CIN U62099MH2026PTC477061), C Wing 404, CITY TOWER, Sector 15, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra 400614, India. We operate the YOJNA app and yojna.ai. In DPDP terms we are the Data Fiduciary; you are the Data Principal.
2What we collect and why
Identity and contact: your mobile number, and your name. Your number is how you sign in and how we reach you.
Profile: age, gender, state, city, country, preferred language, education, and income band. We use these to decide which schemes, jobs, scholarships and other opportunities you are actually eligible for. Eligibility rules are written in terms of exactly these fields; without them we cannot tell you anything useful.
Your situation, in your own words: the description you write (or speak) about where you are in life. This is the core input to your plan.
Your plan and progress: the roadmap we generate, the steps you complete, the proof you upload, applications you record, and which documents you have ready.
Money: payment records, subscription state and invoices. Card and bank details are handled entirely by our payment provider and never reach our servers.
Rewards: coin balance, transactions and referral codes.
Device: notification token, app version and language, so notifications reach the right device in the right language.
Usage: which screens and cards you see and tap. We use this to work out what is helping and what is noise. It is not sold and not used to build an advertising profile.
Support: the contents of tickets you raise.
Sign-in: we do not store a password or PIN. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your mobile number, so there is no reusable secret of yours for us to lose.
3We do not sell your data
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
4Who processes your data for us
We use specialist providers, each only for the stated purpose. We name them by category here; if you want to know which company handles a category, write to grievance@yojna.ai and we will tell you.
Cloud infrastructure - database, sign-in and file storage.
AI processing providers - generating and checking your plan and other AI features. We send the parts of your profile and situation needed for the task.
Payment gateway - card, UPI and netbanking payments. They receive your payment details directly; we receive only the result.
SMS provider - one-time passcodes for sign-in.
Email provider - transactional email.
Mobile platform services - push notifications, city lookup and language support.
Error monitoring - crash diagnostics, when enabled.
Website hosting - serving this website.
Some of these process data outside India. Where that happens we rely on the transfer mechanisms permitted under the DPDP Act and its rules.
5Where opportunity information comes from
Schemes, jobs, scholarships and similar listings are collected from government portals, official notifications and other public sources. We check them, but we do not run them. We are not an agent of any government department, employer or institution, and we cannot approve or reject your application.
6How long we keep it
While your account is open, and afterwards only where the law requires it. Payment and invoice records are kept for the period required by Indian tax law. When you delete your account we erase your personal data across our systems, retaining only what a statute obliges us to keep.
7Your rights
You can obtain a copy of the data we hold, correct it, and have it erased. The download and delete controls are inside the app under Settings. You can also nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to our Grievance Officer (see the Grievance Redressal policy) and then to the Data Protection Board of India.
8Children
If you are under 18, we require verifiable consent from a parent or guardian before your account can be used, and we do not use your data for behavioural advertising or tracking.
9Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to user records is restricted per-user at the database level, so one account cannot read another. Staff access is limited and logged. No system is perfect; if a breach affects you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as required.
10Changes
When this policy changes we publish a new version rather than overwriting the old one, so it stays answerable what you agreed to and when. Material changes will be notified in the app.

Your rights where you live
Your country may give you more than the policy above. Where it does, this is what you get in addition — and where the two differ, the rules for your country win.
This annex applies if you are in Australia. It adds to our Privacy Policy; where the two differ, this annex wins for you.
1The law that protects you
Privacy Act 1988 (Australian Privacy Principles).
2Your rights
You may ask what personal data we hold about you and obtain a copy, ask us to correct anything wrong, ask us to delete it, object to particular uses, and withdraw any consent you have given. Use the download and delete controls in Settings, or write to our Grievance Officer. We respond within 30 days.
3Where your data is processed
We are based in India and use service providers in other countries, so your data is processed outside Australia. We use contractual safeguards with each provider. The Privacy Policy lists who they are and what each one does.
4Children
Below the age of 15 we require consent from a parent or guardian before the account can be used.
6Complaining
Contact our Grievance Officer first - the details are in the Grievance Redressal policy, and we answer within 15 days. If you are not satisfied you may complain to OAIC (https://www.oaic.gov.au).
